The Miracle Tool - Magic Wheel House
Published on:
In Cross City, Vivien sat at the entrance of the cart repair shop, resting on a cart during her lunch break. Her clothes were dirty from work, but she didn't mind, her face beaming with a smile.
Passersby stopped to look at her.
"Vivien, you're back already?"
"How's your sister? Is she better?"
Vivien nodded repeatedly, "She's fine now. She's all better."
The passersby asked in surprise, "Did you really find the witch doctors? That's incredibly lucky!"
Vivien didn't go into details, only saying, "It was because of God's guidance."
Vivien had always been fortunate, blessed with luck since childhood.
During her break, she immersed herself in a book, rediscovering the feelings she had as a child. The boundless imagination, the unrestrained freedom.
She had borrowed the book from Cross City's library, as buying was out of the question. Any book in this era was extraordinarily expensive.
Even borrowing was not something ordinary people could afford long-term.
The book was titled "The Revelation of the Saint."
It contained some of Saint Stan's experiences in the Spirit Country, some true, some imagined. The book wasn't written by Saint Stan himself, but compiled later based on hearsay and rumors.
Yet, it was one of the few books that truly recorded anything about spirits.
Vivien wanted to learn about spirit stories, though she didn't know the name of the spirit she had encountered, or which spirit of the Spirit Country it was.
The book described a world like a fairy tale kingdom, with rivers of flowing oil, houses made of food, and a realm built of silk.
When she read about spirits riding unicycles, she paused, her eyes lost in thought.
The book even had illustrations, showing the compiler's dedication.
As Vivien studied the illustration of the spirit and the unicycle, an idea suddenly struck her.
"Could this pedaling method work on a cart?"
"Then we wouldn't need to pull it, we could just pedal and go."
With this thought, Vivien immediately began to prepare.
As a cart repairer, she was confident this wouldn't be difficult.
That day, upon returning home, she set her sights on her old small cart, its little canopy still intact.
Using her cart repair tools, Vivien modified her small cart.
Over a couple of nights, she fashioned a pedaling mechanism, a single wheel, and a seat board, drawing inspiration from the book's description.
She then removed the cart's two handles and assembled everything together.
Vivien sat on it, mimicking the spirit's unicycle-riding posture.
She pushed down on the pedal, and the cart moved.
"It's moving!" she exclaimed, her eyes wide with excitement.
"It's actually moving!"
Vivien was ecstatic, raising her hands high.
Though it moved, Vivien wobbled as she sat, and pedaling was quite strenuous.
She jumped off, shaking her head as she looked at her newly modified cart.
"It's not right."
"It feels awkward, unbalanced front to back."
"And there's nowhere to put my hands, it feels like I can't exert force properly."
Although Trilobite Men are generally very strong and have great endurance, pedaling was still very tiring.
The front and back wheels weren't working together smoothly, making it feel like two separate parts fighting against each other instead of a single, unified vehicle.
Over the next few days, Vivien first lengthened the seat board, allowing her hands to rest on its front. This position made it easier to exert force and pedal.
Meanwhile, she continued to ponder how to make the front and back wheels work in harmony.
Vivien found a discarded item in the market, said to be the skin of some mutated monster from the Sacred Lake decades ago. It hadn't decayed after the creature's death and was very sturdy.
She made a belt with it, connecting the front and back wheels to create a transmission device.
When she pedaled now, it felt completely different.
This strange cart now had three wheels. It could drive the two back wheels forward together through foot pedaling. The operator sat on a long seat board, needing to grip the front of the board and pedal forcefully.
However, it couldn't turn directly. Every time the direction needed to be changed, the rider had to get off.
Vivien took her sister and brought the new cart outside the city for a test ride.
"Hee hee hee!" In the wilderness, Vivien rode the cart with her sister chasing behind.
"How is it? Isn't it amazing?" Vivien found it much easier this time. With this, she could make several trips carrying goods.
Her sister said, "Big sister is the best."
Vivien laughed heartily, "From now on, I'll use this to take you out to play."
The child cheered endlessly.
While Vivien had created this contraption based on her own ideas, she couldn't fully grasp the far-reaching impact and significance it would have.
This "new cart," as Vivien called it, seemed simple but could directly change the Trilobite Men's transportation methods and divine fire.
Using monsters for transportation was something only the Nine Ritual Temples could do.
Ordinary Trilobite Men merchant groups and city systems still relied on manpower.
At this time, the emergence of such a labor-saving tool capable of long-distance transport represented a significant and enormous change.
In the Dream Realm, the dream sun suddenly blazed brightly.
Images appeared one after another on God's Cup, with lines of text being inscribed.
In the sky above the real Cross City, streaks of light descended.
The light was so conspicuous, falling from the direction of the sun, catching the attention of many in Cross City.
"Shooting stars!"
"It's shooting stars!"
On the streets and in rooms, many Trilobite Men pointed at the sky in amazement.
In the wilderness outside the city, Vivien, riding her cart, was suddenly enveloped by golden light.
It caught her off guard, happening too quickly for her to react.
The strange tricycle she was riding began to change, rapidly expanding.
The two wheels became enormous, nearly three meters high, covered with a soft, puffy layer and intricate, strange patterns.
The originally simple canvas-covered trailer, infused with miraculous power, transformed into an oddly shaped metal house. It didn't look big, but it had windows and a chimney.
Under the chassis was a small wheel for steering control.
At the back of the house was something like a magical wheel resembling a clockwork mechanism.
As the magical wheel turned, it made a sound.
"Click-clack-clack-clack!"
This feeling was somewhat similar to the belt device Vivien had created, but far more magical.
As the magical wheel at the back of the house turned, this strange contraption started to move on its own.
Vivien, now inside the metal house, was carried along by this odd thing.
"What's happening?"
"How did the cart suddenly change like this?"
She touched it, and a stream of information flowed directly into her consciousness.
【Miracle Tool - Magic Wheel House】
【Sequence Number 5】
【Rotation possesses magical power, and the power of the Magic Wheel House comes from this.】
【To save her sister, the Trilobite Man Vivien once transformed her cart into a small house and set out on a journey to find hope; it is both a vehicle and a cozy home. No matter where you are, no matter where you live, as long as you're with your loved ones, you have a home.】
Vivien was stunned, unsure of what had just happened.
She looked up at the sky, suddenly remembering the spirit.
"Is this a gift from you?"
After figuring out how to control this Miracle Tool, Vivien stopped it. By this time, her sister had caught up.
The two of them drove the Magic Wheel House away from this place, venturing further into the wilderness, where they hid it.
"Big sister!"
"This is amazing. With it, we can go anywhere we want."
Her sister nodded, "That's true."
But as she said this, she was clearly distracted.
She was somewhat worried, but also expectant.
The falling stars outside and the sudden appearance of the strange Magic Wheel House would surely attract attention. Vivien felt that this thing she had created would bring trouble.
But she was reluctant to give up the Magic Wheel House.
She suddenly remembered a place, a journey she had always wanted to take as a child but never managed to.
"The Temple of Truth."
"That sacred temple of truth and knowledge, the holy place of priests."
Walking on the main road, holding her sister's hand, the two moved slowly, chatting and laughing along the way.
In the distance, Cross City appeared, and Vivien finally made her decision.
"Perhaps it's time to set out."
"It might be a bit late, but it doesn't feel too late."
The next morning, after quietly bidding farewell to the cart repair shop owner, Vivien gradually moved everything from her home out of the city and loaded it onto the Magic Wheel House.
Then, taking her sister, she set off towards God-Descended City.
This was also the first time she had left her hometown to travel so far.
The two sisters boarded the Magic Wheel House, bypassing cities and densely populated areas as they headed towards the sea, passing through uninhabited wilderness.
Vivien looked into the distance through her telescope, full of anticipation for the future and faraway places.
Her sister was even more excited than Vivien, standing inside the Magic Wheel House, looking out the window, jumping up and down.
"Big sister!"
"Is this what adventure is like?"
Vivien replied, "This is just traveling."
Her sister asked, "Then what's adventure?"
Vivien thought for a moment, then said to her sister.
"Going to places no one has ever been, discovering things no one has ever seen before."
"That's adventure."
In the hot air balloon flying in the sky.
The spirit, holding a mirror, ran up to the third floor of the small house. In it were images of the Miracle Tool - Magic Wheel House and the two sisters.
The scenes kept changing, showing many images of Vivien creating the new cart.
"God!" the spirit exclaimed, her voice brimming with excitement. "You have to see this!"
"She created a Miracle Tool, a tool with the power of rotation."
"I knew she was different. The light in her eyes was different even when she was little."
The spirit was very excited, as if she had written a "masterpiece" herself.
Yin Shen glanced at it, his gaze clearly pausing for a moment.
"This is..."
"A tricycle?"
