The Final Chapter
Published on:
Star Luo Kingdom, a seaside town outside the God-Descended City.
Tito Town.
The great poet Tito had passed away nearly two hundred years ago, and his children, entangled in a complex and treacherous struggle, had dejectedly left the God-Servant City and established their own family here.
This was where Polo, the Messenger of God, and the Star Queen had spent their final years in seclusion. The descendants of the great poet Tito found this place based on Tito's records and memories.
They established a village here, naming it after Tito.
Over a hundred years passed, and the village became a town, attracting quite a few Yinsai people from outside to gather here, gradually becoming prosperous.
However, unlike ordinary seaside fishing villages and towns, this coastal town did not rely on fishing for its livelihood.
Instead, it was known for its bone book carvings and stone sculptures.
The town had a large number of craftsmen, all serfs and subjects of the Tito family's domain.
They specialized in carving bone books and stone tablets of the 《Yinsai Epic》, 《Hymn of the King of Wisdom》, and 《Redlichia Covenant》, which were then transported to various parts of the Star Luo Kingdom.
In the God-Descended City and the homes of nobles, merchants, and bureaucrats throughout the Star Luo Kingdom, it was considered an honor to display a bone book or stone tablet produced in Tito Town, demonstrating one's devotion to God.
The great poet Tito of yesteryear probably never imagined that his descendants would one day no longer inherit the mapmaking skills of their ancestors, nor would they learn to become poets like Tito.
Instead, they relied on the epics and legends left behind by their ancestors to maintain the glory and honor of the nobility, as well as their lavish lifestyle.
These descendant nobles had been living off the legacy left by the great poet Tito for over a hundred years.
From the looks of it, barring any unforeseen circumstances, this family could continue to rely on Poet Tito's reputation and the great glory of their ancestors for several more centuries.
On this day, a merchant convoy arrived at Tito Town.
The entire town not only had tall, castle-like buildings but was also surrounded by a two-meter-high stone wall, with a thin stone gate at the entrance.
It was called a town, but it was more like a small city.
Someone poked their head out from a small window and looked at the merchant convoy.
"What business do you have?"
The leader of the merchant convoy was a Trilobite Man with white bone armor, clearly of no ordinary background. "We are a merchant convoy from the Samo Kingdom, coming from afar for the epic bone books of Tito Town, hoping to bring some back for the nobles there."
The person sized them up, a greedy look in his eyes.
"All merchant convoys must pay taxes before entering the town."
The leader of the merchant convoy had clearly come prepared. He placed a handful of bone coins and a few stone coins into the window.
The person immediately waved his hand, ordering the town gate to be opened, letting the entire merchant convoy in.
The merchant convoy stayed at the inn in town. They looked travel-worn from the long journey and began to rest before dark.
But when the dead of night arrived, the people of the merchant convoy quietly walked out of the courtyard one by one, whispering to each other as they drew their weapons.
Their silhouettes crossed the street, holding bone spears, stone hammers, and capture nets as they headed towards the castle of the Tito family.
This was no merchant convoy at all, but a group of well-trained soldiers.
Even more unexpectedly, the leader of the merchant convoy was actually a high priest, one who possessed the power of divine techniques.
With a wave of his hand, he snapped the necks of several castle guards from a distance, right through the main gate.
Then, with a single hand, he pushed open the castle gate and charged in with the soldiers.
A massacre descended upon the Tito family.
In the hall littered with corpses, the walls carved with sacred images and the gazes of generations of kings bore witness to this brutal slaughter, as well as the sin and greed.
Before the exquisite long table, a Trilobite Man so fat that one might doubt he could walk without assistance was being held at sword point by the leader of the merchant convoy, a Ruhe sword pressed against him, one foot stepping on his hand.
"Speak!"
"Where exactly is it?"
The patriarch of the Tito family was at a loss. "What are you talking about?" he stammered. "I truly don't know!"
The leader of the merchant convoy reminded him once more, "The final chapter left by the great poet, the legendary book recording the secrets of the divine realm."
The entire merchant convoy was clearly acting with a plan and purpose, seeking the final chapter left behind by the great poet.
The patriarch of the Tito family had his hand stepped on, wailing in agony.
"I really don't know!"
"The Tito family has never had such things. I've never heard of such things."
The leader of the merchant convoy even used mind-reading but discovered that the patriarch of the Tito family truly knew nothing.
Seeing that he couldn't extract anything, he looked at the other with extreme disappointment.
"Two hundred years have passed. Not only have you long forgotten the glory of your ancestors, but even the past heritage and secrets have been nearly severed."
"A bunch of decadent fat worms, simply defiling the sacred name of the great poet."
The patriarch of the Tito family watched as the other raised the Ruhe sword high. He let out a shrill cry.
"You kill the descendant of the great poet, the patriarch of the glorious Tito family."
"You will surely bring retribution upon yourselves."
"The Star Luo Kingdom will not let you off, and neither will Her Majesty the Queen."
The other sneered. "Of course, the great poet Tito is inviolable and must not be blasphemed, but his glory belongs to him alone."
"You shameless idiotic insects, relying on the glory of the great poet and calling yourselves descendants of a saint, dare to claim glory and brilliance for yourselves."
"What are you?"
"Despite possessing royal blood and calling yourselves descendants of a saint, you haven't produced a single priest in a hundred years."
"Decayed and degenerate to this extent, you still dare to take the name of the great poet Tito?"
With that, he thrust his sword into the other's body through the gaps in the bone armor.
The fat worm twitched a few times, then fell still.
From the very beginning, the leader of the merchant convoy had no intention of leaving anyone alive.
He despised these fat worms who disgraced the sacred name of the great poet, but he knew how great the influence of the Tito family's reputation was.
Although the Tito family had long declined and decayed after being excluded and suppressed by the Sky Temple and the royal bloodline families for generations, he knew how troublesome it would be just hearing their title as descendants of a saint.
If any loose ends were left, it would be a path to certain death for him.
Even the person behind him would not dare to protect him.
"Search!"
"According to the records left in the journals of the great poet Tito's three sons, the great poet, before returning to the divine realm, once had his eldest son come here to find the place where the Star Queen and Polo, the Messenger of God, spent their final years in seclusion, and then hid all his secrets here."
"That place must be right here."
The leader of the merchant convoy led his men to search everywhere, finally discovering something unusual in front of a wall in the castle's underground storehouse.
"Found it."
The wall was carved with a pattern of stars, neither luxurious nor extraordinary.
The others felt along the wall, tapping and knocking.
"There's nothing here?"
The leader of the merchant convoy said, "It's an illusion cast using the Divine Cup!"
He reached out his hand and made a grasping motion towards the wall.
The originally tall wall actually began to distort, spinning and opening up a passage.
"Rumble!"
Dust rose, and the stone slabs on the ground collapsed and fell one by one.
The passage led directly to the depths underground. The group walked along the passage towards the depths.
Gradually, a faint golden glow appeared in the darkness ahead.
"What is this?"
As the crowd approached, they discovered that the underground was actually filled with blooming Sun Cup Flowers.
The flower cups of the Sun Cup Flowers opened, and one dream flower after another swayed, the pollen floating in this space, emitting a fluorescent glow.
At a glance, it was like being lost in a dream-like illusion.
"Sun Cup Flowers!"
"There are actually so many Sun Cup Flowers in bloom."
"Beneath the Tito family lies a sea of sun."
Although they were excited, they all suppressed it.
Any single one of these Sun Cup Flowers would be considered a priceless treasure for ordinary Trilobite Men or even nobles.
But with a clear purpose, they knew that compared to what they had come to find, the phrase "priceless treasure" was not even worth mentioning.
That thing hidden deep within the flower sea, the treasure left behind by the great poet Tito.
That was what even the royal bloodline families looked upon with covetous eyes and drooling mouths.
Because it was a supreme object related to the gods, an epic chapter concealing the secrets of the divine realm.
