Destined Not to Obtain It

The Xilong family's Sky Beast and the Hosen family's Burrowing Demon Worm.
Two mythical creatures, born of the same species yet evolved into starkly different forms, now clashed in a titanic battle that shook the God-Descended City to its core. Their fight seemed a brutal contest to prove which evolutionary path reigned supreme.
The people of the God-Descended City were gripped by terror at the sight of these two colossal monsters. Thousands fled their homes in panic, clutching what possessions they could as they rushed towards the city gates.
"The south gate is blocked!" The southern exit was a tumultuous sea of people, with chaos and violence erupting at the city gate.
"Quick... go to the north!" Some people changed direction, hope mingling with desperation in their voices.
"The city center is blocked by monsters, we can't get through!" But looking back, they saw the Ruhe beasts locked in their fierce battle on the main road, crushing any hope of escape.
"God! Is this Your divine punishment?" In front of the shattered streets, some people wept bitterly while holding the corpses of their loved ones.
"Volcano Kingdom, I curse you..."
"Why would God bestow such monsters? Why do such terrifying things exist in this world?"
Yet they didn't consider that when God bestowed the Ruhe beasts, it was with the hope that the Trilobite Men would use them to build their own cities, to carve out their homes with the beasts' power.
The God-Given Land, Yesael City, the God-Descended City, and many other cities were all built by Ruhe beasts.
It was the Trilobite Men themselves who turned this power against their own kind.
The city gates were choked with people, while the streets echoed with cries, wails, and roars.
The Burrowing Demon Worm tore through the earth and leaped up, biting into the low-flying Sky Beast and ripping off a large chunk of its membrane. Viscous, semi-transparent blood rained down from the sky.
"Whoosh! Whoosh!"
The Sky Beast exhaled fierce winds, its hundreds of tentacles entangling the Burrowing Demon Worm, preventing it from diving back into the ground and trying to drag it out from the depths.
The Burrowing Demon Worm twisted its enormous body, destroying and crushing everything on the ground.
"Boom~ Boom~ Boom~!"
As the two Ruhe beasts grappled, they finally dragged the battlefield into Yesael's palace.
This ancient and majestic palace instantly collapsed in large sections. Even the stone tablet of laws established by Yesael was broken into several pieces during the battle.
Prince Weishi Hosen of the Volcano Kingdom showed no concern for the lives of the city's people, nor did he care about the palace built by King Yesael.
Born into a royal bloodline family, their feelings towards King Yesael were conflicted. Some extremely revered King Yesael, while others held him in contempt.
The palace once built by King Yesael disappeared in a cloud of dust dozens of meters high.
Seeing this, the Star Luo Queen's Sky Beast momentarily faltered.
She was thoroughly enraged.
The Sky Beast's wind-spewing mouth emitted a sound, the Queen's fury undisguised in her words.
"Hosen family!"
"The palace left by King Yesael, the great relic of Yinsai, has been destroyed by you."
"Are you still people of Yinsai, descendants of King Redlichia?"
Weishi Hosen sneered: "Wasn't it your Xilong family that ended the rule of the Yesael family? Why put on this act now?"
"Who killed King Eli? Who ended the Yinsai Kingdom?"
"It was you! The Xilong family!" he spat, his words dripping with contempt.
Weishi Hosen's laughter, tinged with mockery and bitterness, rang out across the God-Descended City as he dredged up the painful history.
"Hahaha, do you still think you inherited this God-Descended City legitimately? Did the Yesael family willingly give you this palace?"
But at the same time, the prince showed no reverence for this ancient king, after all, his ancestors were another child of King Redlichia.
"It's better gone," he sneered. "The King of Yinsai has long since vanished. What use is there in preserving this empty shell of a palace?"
The Burrowing Demon Worm bit off one tentacle after another of the Sky Beast, while the Sky Beast's sharp tentacles continuously pierced into the Burrowing Demon Worm's body, opening one terrible wound after another.
The battle raged with ferocious intensity, each beast fighting as if its very existence depended on victory.
But both their gazes remained fixed on the running crowd, where the city governor, the High Priest of the Yinsai Temple, and a large group of guards were protecting a young man holding a bone tablet.
Amidst the grappling and struggling, the Burrowing Demon Worm frantically tried to approach them.
The Sky Beast's tentacles firmly held back the Burrowing Demon Worm, not letting it catch up.
Finally, the Sky Beast released its tentacles.
Seizing this opportunity, the Burrowing Demon Worm immediately burrowed into the ground, approaching the group from below.
But before the Burrowing Demon Worm could emerge from underground, the Sky Beast had already glided over, opening its huge mouth as it skimmed the ground.
"Get in!"
The Sky Beast's inhalation swept up these people in a whirlwind, swallowing them inside.
The Sky Beast enveloped these people in its air sacs and floated towards the sky.
If it were just a battle, neither could overcome the other.
One could fly to the sky, the other could burrow into the ground.
But this was different. They were fighting for the "Final Chapter" left by the great poet Tito. Whoever got it first would win.
Weishi Hosen, fused with the Burrowing Demon Worm, burst out from underground, looking up at the Sky Beast floating higher.
He knew he had lost.
Although the Sky Beast had retrieved the people and obtained Tito's bone tablet, it didn't leave. Instead, it continuously extended its tentacles to attack the Burrowing Demon Worm.
As the opponent stubbornly held him back, Weishi Hosen sensed danger.
The prince thought for a moment and immediately guessed what it was.
"Not good!" he cursed. "The Sky Temple's second beast is approaching."
Of the seven Ruhe beasts, the Star Luo Kingdom, Samo Kingdom, and Volcano Kingdom each possessed two, while the weakest, the Sele Kingdom, only had one.
Realizing this, Weishi Hosen had no intention of staying.
He immediately controlled the Burrowing Demon Worm to dive into the ground, leaving behind a terrifying hole and cave before disappearing without a trace—
Dozens of kilometers away from the God-Descended City.
The Burrowing Demon Worm broke through a desert, and Prince Weishi had it release its flesh encasing him. He stepped down onto the ground.
This place was not far from Tito Town; the prosperous town could be seen in the distance from the high ground.
Weishi Hosen looked towards Tito Town and took out his bone tablet.
The elation he had felt upon first obtaining it now twisted into a bitter knot of frustration and anger in his gut.
"Did I gain something? Or did I lose everything?"
Weishi Hosen's mind returned to those words: "It's destined that you won't obtain it either."
He couldn't help but repeat it, each repetition deepening his hatred.
"It's destined that I won't obtain it either."
"It's destined that I won't obtain it either."
"..."
He hated the dead man who said these words to the extreme. Never in his life had he hated someone so much, and these were the most vicious words he had ever heard.
"Damn it!" he roared, his voice filled with rage and frustration.
"You damned thing, it's all your fault."
"It's all your fault!"
But no matter how furious and frantic he became, it couldn't change anything.
He turned around dejectedly and set off on his journey back.
He could already envision the reception that awaited him upon his return: not the cheers and glory he had dreamed of, but a gauntlet of sneers, whispers, and barely concealed mockery.
"Star Luo Kingdom," he growled, his eyes narrowing. "This isn't over yet."
