Meeting God's Messenger
Published on:
The Dream Spirit emerged from God's realm, crossing the light gate to descend into the mortal world.
She walked on the sea, her golden, ornate robe brushing the water's surface, creating ripples.
This was her first time entering the world outside God's realm. Born at God's feet, she had been by His side since her inception.
Gazing at the endless sea, her heart felt boundless.
She gracefully leapt and floated over the sea surface, singing an ethereal melody and performing the spirits' cherished dance.
The outside world was vast and beautiful.
But she missed her companions, wishing they were here to hold hands with her.
When God wasn't watching her, she let herself go completely, just like the other little spirits.
But suddenly, she wondered if she had been too restrained before God in the past. She thought it might be nice to dance in front of God too.
"If only God were here to see me, dancing over the sea surface."
"Though it might be a bit embarrassing."
As she traversed the sea surface, she suddenly looked up towards the distance.
She sensed a Ruhe beast nearby, reminding her of her purpose for leaving God's realm.
But the Dream Spirit also felt puzzled: "Why would a Fusion Monster appear here?"
This wasn't the realm of Yinsai, but belonged to the People of the Abyss.
Carried by the starlight, she rushed towards the scene.
As she arrived, she was confronted by a gruesome sight. Corpses floated on the sea surface, and the blood of the People of the Abyss spread across the water, filling the air with a pungent, fishy smell.
She witnessed killing and betrayal.
A Trilobite Man named Henir thrust his Ruhe sword into his brother's body, who shared the same bloodline, and viciously kicked him down into the sea.
"Die, Prince Weishi of the Hosen family!"
It was the first time the spirit had seen such a scene, the sin and evil of the Trilobite Men laid bare before her—
Henir, riding the Ruhe beast in its Burrowing Demon Worm form, passed through the sea surface, standing alone atop the beast's head.
He held the sword in his hand, the blood on both the sword and his hand washed clean by the seawater.
At first, he stared into the distance with a quiet expression, as if everything that had just happened never occurred.
Or perhaps, as long as the blood on his hands was washed clean, everything would cease to exist.
Soon, he couldn't help but burst into laughter, covering his eyes with his hand as if trying to hide his unrestrained, wild laughter.
"Hahahahahaha!"
"Hahahahahaha!"
For the first time, Henir felt such exhilaration. He, a mere black mud beneath the feet of the Hosen family, had devoured the most important heir of the Hosen family.
Not only that, he had stolen one of the two most important cornerstones of the Hosen family's throne - the Burrowing Demon Worm.
Dreamlike starlight descended on the sea surface, and an ethereal voice echoed across the waters.
The newcomer asked him: "Trilobite Man!"
"How can you be both kind and pure, yet so evil and ugly?"
"You've committed the sin of killing your kin, yet why can you still laugh out loud?"
The Dream Spirit even began to doubt whether these kings, these people who wielded the power of wisdom, could truly make good use of the power of dreams.
Or was it as God said, that everything she did was just meaningless labor?
Henir turned around and saw the beautiful creature amidst the dreamlike starlight.
She walked on the sea surface, like the most beautiful being from a dream stepping into this world, a beauty and holiness that myths and murals could not capture.
It was the first time he had seen such a being.
If he was the black mud from the depths, she was the radiance of the moon and stars above.
"Who are you?" he asked.
The Dream Spirit told him: "I am God's messenger, a spirit of dreams."
In a daze, Henir struggled out of his lost state.
Only then did he react to what the spirit had said earlier, and he smiled undeniably.
"Dream Spirit! Saint Tito said you were born from beautiful dreams, representing the good side of inherent nature from birth."
"You were born surrounding God's feet, residing in God's realm."
"Is this true?"
The Dream Spirit nodded: "It's true."
Henir: "See? You are so fortunate."
"You were born with everything, possessing the most beautiful things in the world."
"You haven't experienced our pain, our despair, our hatred. What right do you have to demand that we must be kind and good?"
The Dream Spirit was stunned. She had never thought about these things before.
The Trilobite Men were far more complex than she had imagined, and the mortal realm was not the dreamy garden of the spirits.
Henir didn't wait for the spirit's answer: "Then why has God's messenger come to the mortal world? Are you here to punish me on behalf of God?"
Dream Spirit: "The gates of God's realm are about to open, revealing the path of return for the Trilobite Men."
"Simultaneously, God will bestow upon the Trilobite Men the power of creation, while reclaiming the power of destruction."
In her heart, she was reluctant to entrust the power of dreams to such individuals. Yet, she knew that only those who wielded power could become catalysts for change and revolution.
Still, she hoped to find a different person to become the bearer and controller of the power of dreams.
Yet she still asked: "Trilobite Man who has committed the sin of killing kin! Are you willing to give up the power of the beast?"
Henir: "And what would I get in return?"
The Dream Spirit told him: "Abandon the power of destruction, and you will gain the power of creation."
"Let go of the darkness in your heart, and you will receive the light of hope."
"The gates of God's realm will open to you, and when you die, someone will come to receive you, transforming you into a star in God's kingdom."
Henir thought for a moment, then rejected the spirit's proposal.
"No."
"Whether it's the power of destruction or the power of creation, it's still power."
"Why should I give up a power I already possess for an unknown power?"
Dream Spirit: "Loss and gain are not for you to decide!"
"Descendant of King Redlichia!"
"Everything you possess is not yours, but merely bestowed upon you by God."
"Your life, your wisdom, your power."
"Even the power of the Fusion Monster that you think will give you everything once obtained, is just a temporary gift from God."
The spirit looked at Henir, saddened by his fallen and darkened heart.
But she didn't force Henir to give up the beast's power. Only those willing to abandon the power of destruction were worthy of receiving the creative power of dreams.
"Henir."
"You will eventually grow old and lose everything."
"Only God's realm is eternal."
"One day, you will regret the choice you made today."
Henir knelt humbly, bowing to God's messenger.
"Messenger representing God, please forgive your humble and short-sighted believer. I cannot see such a distant future."
"At this moment, I only wish to pursue what is within my grasp."
Accompanied by starlight, God's messenger departed. This was not the person she was looking for.
Only then did Henir stand up.
Suddenly, he felt a burning sensation from the Ruhe brand on his brow. He looked at his reflection in the sea.
To his astonishment, he noticed that the mark of the Ruhe brand had dimmed ever so slightly.
