The Era of God's Moon Begins
Published on:
After several hundred years, God's Moon appeared in the sky once again.
At that moment, within the Demon Spirit Pyramid, the figure in the Tower Spirit's domain sensed something.
The Tower Spirit of the Demon Spirit Pyramid, an artifact on the verge of becoming Mythical, appeared outside the temple. She emerged from the boundary between illusion and reality and, like many Demon Spirits, raised her head to gaze at the sky.
Elena, with one real face and one illusory face beneath her hood, looked up at the star-filled night sky. The puppet's mouth opened slightly as she spoke the name of the moon.
Puppet Elena whispered, "God's Moon?"
Ghost Elena softly replied, "The Crown of Wisdom."
God's Moon had last appeared when Yafuan of the Avel people, acting in the name of the Abyss King, formed an eternal and indestructible covenant with the Crown of Wisdom.
God's Moon descended to the mortal world to fulfill the Abyss Race Covenant. It separated the Abyss from the current world, sending it into the depths of the Dream Realm.
When Yin Shen had appeared in the Star Night Mountain Range, God's Moon had only cast its projection there, hidden from the outside world.
This time, however, it was visible to everyone.
This was the first time in this era that Elena had seen the eternal silver moon.
Elena looked at the silver moon, her eyes reflecting its light.
Those who had not lived through the First Era could not comprehend the longing these people felt for God's Moon, nor could they grasp the emotions stirred by its appearance.
No one truly understood what the return of God's Moon signified.
When the second Wisdom King, Yesael, lost the Crown of Wisdom, the assimilation oath that King Redlichia had inscribed upon it was broken.
Yinsai granted freedom to the Trilobite Men, an act that led to the later flourishing of their civilization.
Finally, Yinsai reclaimed the Crown of Wisdom. It then ascended to the heavens and became God's Moon.
But soon, Elena lowered her head.
She was different now and could no longer look at this eternal moon for too long.
Elena spoke a saying that circulated among the Trilobite Men and the People of the Abyss.
"One must not peek at the divine. One must not gaze directly at the divine. One must not blaspheme the divine."
She extended her hand. Her silver, gleaming, slender puppet fingers pierced the veil of her cloak, exposing them to the moonlight.
Once, she had been an Apostle of Yinsai.
In the previous era, there was only one deity. All apostles of the Trilobite Men and the People of the Abyss therefore served as Apostles of Yinsai.
This included her, as well as Lan, and later Anli and Asai.
She once possessed God's Form, but now all that remained was this puppet body.
Fortunately, when the moonlight shone upon this cold shell, she could still feel its warmth.
The light seemed not to shine on the shell, but to illuminate her heart and reflect deep within her Spirituality.
As God's Moon hung in the sky, all disturbances calmed. Everyone found peace under its light.
The apostles of the mortal world also raised their heads, then lowered them. They were aware of the existence of God's Moon, though its true significance remained a mystery.
Everyone understood that gazing at God's Moon for too long was perilous. A feeling of danger would seep into the heart of anyone who stared at it.
Unless one was a madman with a death wish, few dared to stare continuously at God's Moon.
At this moment, more beings began to stir as God's Moon illuminated the world.
In a kingdom among the clouds that seemed to float like a mirage, a demigod stood with his servant. Together, they looked up at the sky over the endless sea of clouds.
"The Yinsai God?"
The God of Knowledge and Truth, Asai, looked at Polik. As their eyes met, he saw the same uncertainty reflected there.
Neither could determine the reason for the sudden appearance of God's Moon.
Asai offered his only thought. "Could this be in preparation for the upcoming descent of the Wisdom Fruit?"
God's Moon was the Crown of Wisdom. The Wisdom Fruit emerged from the origin within God's Moon.
Viewed this way, it seemed to make sense.
In the Blood Kingdom of the Deep Sea, ominous shadows moved restlessly beneath the water's surface.
Under the ancient lighthouse, countless Trilobite Symbiotes stared up through the depths of the sea at the moon shining above.
The Scarlet Goddess stood silently beneath a mural, her gaze fixed on the painted images of the gods.
"God's Moon has appeared again. What is going to happen this time?"
"What is Yinsai foretelling?"
At this moment, most people, including Mythical beings, still did not understand the true meaning behind the appearance of God's Moon.
They merely thought that the Yinsai God had intervened again, perhaps sending down a divine revelation or preparing for the upcoming descent of the Wisdom Fruit.
At the same time, in the Sunrise Mountains, the domain of the God of Desire and Alchemy lay within the Miracle Garden, a place suspended in mid-air and intertwined with cascading waterfalls.
Iva stood amid silver flowers, with fairytale-like buildings and lights glowing behind him.
The Golden Queen stood beside him and noticed his expression shift from confusion to shock.
"What is it?" she asked, her voice tinged with concern.
Iva shook his head. "No... this isn't right."
"Something is wrong. Very wrong."
The Golden Queen looked at her husband, her face filled with confusion.
"What is wrong?"
The former guardian of the gates of the Creator's Kingdom, who once guided countless Life Dreams across the Dream Starry Sea, turned to the Golden Queen.
"The Creator... has come to the mortal world."
"The Yinsai God has left the Creator's Kingdom."
The Golden Queen felt goosebumps rise all over her body.
She had never been to the Creator's Kingdom and had never seen the Creator.
She had only heard Iva mention this deity's name and knew of his grandeur.
That was why she understood what this meant.
"Are you saying..."
"The Creator has come to the mortal world?"
"What does He intend to do?"
Iva did not know, and the Golden Queen could not fathom the thoughts of such a supreme deity.
Iva's voice carried a mix of nervousness and curiosity as he spoke.
"Perhaps He wishes to see what has become of the world the gods manage!"
"He may want to see whether the gods have adequately prepared for the descent of the Wisdom Fruit."
The Golden Queen and Iva immediately felt immense pressure, worried that they had not done well enough and would show the supreme deity an unfavorable scene.
Beneath the earth, the seven Ruhe Great Gods who bore the weight of the giant island also began to stir, sensing the change above.
Their reactions were the most intense, though ordinary people could not directly perceive this intensity.
With the appearance of God's Moon, the power to create all life loomed over the world.
The sound of the Mother Conch of All Things seemed to echo faintly in their ears. Shadows that devoured the starry sky appeared to surge from beyond the sky curtain, crawling toward the entire world.
Their master, the Life Sovereign, had arrived in this world alongside God's Moon.
Across the world, the silver moon alone held back the overwhelming shadow.
Wuuu!
Within the ancient and immense resonance of the supreme Divine Artifact's conch horn, a sound imperceptible to ordinary people echoed faintly.
An unseen force spread across Ruhe Beast Island, wrapping it in an embrace.
The Black Storm outside Ruhe Beast Island was immediately suppressed.
With the help of the Eye of Mutation, the Ruhe Beasts possessed Divine Blood that was overly concentrated. This excess blood overflowed from their bodies and merged into the earth of Ruhe Beast Island, eventually becoming the island's very foundation.
The power they possessed was too great for their temporary status to control, so they slept most of the time.
Even so, the power that could not be fully controlled still lingered at the edges of Ruhe Beast Island.
This was the true reason for the Black Storm's appearance.
It was also the reason the Black Storm dissipated when the Life Sovereign appeared on earth.
Only the supreme Divine Artifact, the Mother Conch of All Things, and the Life Sovereign could suppress such terrifying power, a mythological storm covering millions of miles.
Only when He descended would the gate to the outside world open.
The Black Storm started to settle, its fierce energy gradually diminishing.
For mortals, this change was slow and would require time to fully unfold.
At this moment, God's Moon slowly withdrew its radiance, fading into the vast darkness of the sky.
The anomaly of two moons in the sky gradually disappeared.
But in the eyes of powerful beings, traces of God's Moon could still be found.
Indeed, God's Moon would no longer be a fleeting appearance as it had been in the past.
It would hang in the sky for a long period, though it would not often emit its silver radiance.
The era of God's Moon had begun in the Second Era.
This was an era of great change, one where Ability Users would emerge in abundance.
The eternal death storm outside Ruhe Beast Island also began to fade, gradually opening a passage to the outside world over the coming years.
The chosen candidates of the gods would appear one after another, impacting the thrones of mythology.
Yinsai Temple of the Abyss Royal City
Elena watched as the silver radiance of God's Moon gradually receded, hiding in the darkness.
But the supreme authority of its Wisdom Ability still enveloped the entire world.
"It hasn't disappeared?"
"What does this mean?"
God's Moon of the Creator's Kingdom hanging permanently in the mortal world was an unprecedented sight.
Besides Iva, the demigod from the Creator's Kingdom who understood something of this, the other demigods could only guess at its possible meaning.
Elena could only conjecture a few possibilities but could not know for certain what had happened.
At the same time, she looked toward the side hall.
She discovered the uninvited guest who had entered the Yinsai Temple.
She walked into the side hall and looked at the Seal Puppet standing motionless under a stone pillar.
"Who are you?"
"What do you intend by sneaking into the temple?"
Elena had seen the Wisdom Text Stone Tablet and understood that ordinary people could not gaze upon it. Seeing the feathered serpent still intact, she assumed it had not yet seen the tablet's contents.
She was unaware that the light of God's Moon had calmed the turbulent Dream Starry Sea, allowing the feathered serpent to survive the curse.
As Elena looked at the Seal Puppet, she quickly realized it was not a Demon Spirit puppet. She knew Seal Puppets could not stray far from their main body, which meant its true form had to be nearby.
Elena's gaze swept across the sea of sand, and she immediately spotted the feathered serpent's body outside the Abyss Royal City.
"What is that?"
"And... it has wings?"
The feathered serpent finally came to its senses. It looked at the strange puppet, which had both a physical entity and a ghost inhabiting its cloak. Feeling the powerful ability waves emanating from her, it knew she must be the legendary being, close to divinity.
The feathered serpent realized it had stumbled into something extraordinary and had seen something remarkable.
"Please, forgive my intrusion."
"My body is too large to pass through the city gate, so I had to take this form to enter."
"The temple guard told me I should come here, so I did."
Elena glanced at it. She knew the temple guard must have mistaken it for a reviving ancient Demon Spirit puppet.
"This is the Creator's temple."
"It is not a place you can enter. You should leave immediately."
But the feathered serpent stepped forward and spoke to her.
"Lady Elena, I came here for a reason. I am seeking your help."
Elena turned back to look at the feathered serpent without speaking.
The feathered serpent shared the stories it had heard and explained the reason for its journey.
Finally, it said, "I just want to be a Snake Person again."
"Lady Elena, can you help me? I will do whatever it takes."
Only then did Elena realize this creature was actually a Snake Person, transformed into its current state by the arrival of the Original Sin Evil God, Xiao.
Elena initially had no desire to deal with this matter, but after hearing its story, she responded.
"You want me to transform you back into a Snake Person?"
"That is impossible."
"I am a being of wisdom, not a myth of life."
"The transformation of monster forms originates from the Demon Spirit circuit and the power this pyramid grants. It is not the recreation of life as you imagine it."
"A monster's life form resembles a tool more than it does actual life."
Finally, Elena gave the feathered serpent a hint.
"If you truly wish to become a Snake Person again, you should seek the Scarlet Goddess for such matters."
"She is a demigod of life and possesses the ability to forge bodies for the wisdom races."
"Or," Elena added thoughtfully, "you could become an Apostle. That might give you a chance to return to your Snake Person form."
A demigod of life indeed had such power. While they might struggle to directly create new species, they could derive them from existing life templates through bloodlines.
The Scarlet Goddess once carried the Seed of the Trilobite, which contained Trilobite Man bloodlines, across eras, hoping to recreate the Trilobite Men in the next era.
Unfortunately, over the course of 250 million years, too many changes had occurred. The ancient Seed of the Trilobite had been eroded by Life Ability, and the Trilobite Men of the ancient era had completely disappeared.
Even the last King of Yinsai, buried in the Lost Kingdom, had long since turned to stone. Divine Blood alone could not restore the Trilobite Man life form.
"A demigod... of life?"
The feathered serpent knew nothing of these secrets between divine beings. To it, gods were simply gods, with no distinction between Wisdom and Life Abilities.
Or rather, it had never even heard of Life Ability.
These secrets might seem simple, but ordinary people would find them difficult to understand without explanation.
"The Scarlet Goddess?"
The feathered serpent repeated the name. It was one it certainly knew.
It had once been a Snake Person from Maya City in Suinhor, a country where everyone worshipped this deity.
In fact, it had even seen this deity before.
It was the deity who had saved its hometown by enveloping Maya City in a sea of blood.
It was the Scarlet Goddess.
Although it had nearly died at her hands as well, the feathered serpent was still deeply grateful to her.
"Lady Elena," the feathered serpent asked, "where should I go to find the Scarlet Goddess?"
Elena turned away, opening the Tower Spirit realm before her.
"Suinhor."
"If you can find the former Trilobite Men, you will find her."
The feathered serpent wanted to ask about the Trilobite Men, but Elena had already dismissed it from the temple.
The world spun as it returned to the outside of the Demon Spirit Pyramid, the transition seamless and almost dreamlike.
Back in the Tower Spirit realm, the ghost half of Elena recalled memories from the past.
Elena rarely mentioned Vivien, as they had quarreled during the God-Forsaken Era.
Vivien was a sage of the Temple of Truth, but more precisely, she was a sage of the Trilobite Men. She had dedicated herself entirely to saving them.
Elena had sought her help, but Vivien claimed she had no strength to spare. Her refusal was understandable. In a life-or-death situation, who would prioritize those who were not their own?
The rejection from Vivien and Anli had left Elena with no choice. She had to devise the method of forging the Demon Spirit Pyramid from an entire civilization, which ultimately led to the current outcome.
Elena had understood then. She was the second-generation inheritor of the Temple of Truth, while Vivien was a sage dedicated to the Trilobite Men.
Trilobite Men were Trilobite Men, and the People of the Abyss were the People of the Abyss.
Though they shared the same origin, they were ultimately different.
Outside the Demon Spirit Pyramid, the feathered serpent bowed to Elena in gratitude.
"Thank you for your guidance."
Though it had not gotten what it wanted, at least it now knew what to do next.
As it left, the feathered serpent glanced at the Demon Spirit Pyramid.
This immensely powerful tool emanated supernatural waves that covered the entire Abyss Royal City.
But the feathered serpent felt something was strange about it.
"This tower," the feathered serpent murmured, "why is it buried underground?"
It thought the pyramid should have been built upright.
It imagined how imposing the pyramid would look if it were built properly.
The feathered serpent did not know that this tower was still incomplete.
When fully complete, it would split into two opposite parts, one in the current world and one in the Dream Realm.
The part in the current world would suppress the Abyss Royal City, while the part in the Dream Realm would connect everything.
At that time, it would reach the level of a Mythical artifact.
All the Demon Spirits would also be freed from their constraints. They would gain the ability to travel freely throughout the world.
The Seal Puppet dissolved into fragments as the feathered serpent's consciousness drifted back to its true form.
Coiled in the golden sands, the feathered serpent shifted its massive body. It pondered its next course of action as its thoughts swirled like the desert winds.
"Next, I must return to Suinhor."
Speaking of going home, the feathered serpent felt both anxious and eager.
"To seek the Scarlet Goddess. To find those called Trilobite Men."
"And then, I will return home as a Snake Person."
Even if everything had changed, even if many things could never be recovered, it still wanted to go home.
More importantly, it wanted to return home as a Snake Person.
However, the feathered serpent still did not understand what Trilobite Men actually were.
It had only heard of Snake People and Winged People.
Trilobite Men?
What were they?
Did such people even exist in this world?
Perhaps they were another species created by the Life Sovereign that it did not know about.
The feathered serpent lay coiled, pondering.
It was very old now and felt tired.
In this half-asleep, half-awake state, its consciousness grew clearer. It involuntarily recited the divine name of the Scarlet Goddess.
"Scarlet Witch of the Blood Kingdom of the Deep Sea, great Blood Progenitor, Queen of the Most Ancient Race."
"The Most Ancient Race."
"The Most Ancient Race?"
The feathered serpent suddenly opened its eyes.
Before, it had never considered the meaning of this part of the Scarlet Goddess's divine name.
But now, it realized that great secrets were hidden within the names of deities.
Queen of the Most Ancient Race.
Did this mean that the Scarlet Goddess also had a race of her own?
"The Most Ancient Race?"
"Trilobite Men?"
"The race of deities?"
The feathered serpent could not imagine what kind of race could give birth to deities, or what kind of race could be called the Most Ancient.
When were they born?
Could they have been born before the Snake People, before the beginning of the era, before the Life Sovereign created everything in Snake People mythology?
"How is that possible?"
The feathered serpent found its own thoughts laughable. How could such a thing be?
In the understanding of the Snake People, in their mythology, time began when the Life Sovereign created everything.
The Life Sovereign descended from the Kingdom of Gods and created everything in this world.
The feathered serpent planned to rest here for a while before setting out again.
It twisted its tail, lying in the warm, comfortable sand.
As it moved, its massive body brushed against something hard hidden beneath the yellow sand. The feathered serpent paused, sensing an object buried in the sand.
There was something buried here.
With a sweep of its tail, the feathered serpent pulled one stone after another from the yellow sand.
One after another, there were many.
Outside the Abyss Royal City lay a massive pile of rubble.
The rubble contained much waste stone, but also many blocks and steles inscribed with text.
In the previous era, someone had been here before and had rested in this very place.
It was the first-generation saint, Tito, and the first-generation King of the Abyss.
Once, the great poet Tito and the nameless king had worked together here to recover fragments of the lost epic and mythology.
As time cycled onward, a feathered serpent of the Second Era also discovered the secret of this place.
The feathered serpent did not notice anything special at first, until it saw words on one of the stones. It immediately lowered its head to look.
"These are... those characters."
The feathered serpent immediately recognized them as the same characters from the stone tablet that had nearly killed it with a curse earlier.
It grew alert, staring at the stones and sensing that the characters might contain secrets it did not know.
At the very least, it wanted to understand what these characters were.
The records on the stones were scattered, but they were undoubtedly related to a race called the Trilobite Men.
The stones recorded a being called the Prince of the Moon, who left a place called the God-Given Land and established a city called Yesael City.
Piecing the stones together, the feathered serpent was now wide awake.
Through these stones, it seemed to catch a glimpse of ancient truths and the secrets hidden from mortals.
"These stones record the era before the Life Sovereign's descent."
"An era before the Snake People were born, an even more ancient wilderness."
It examined one stone after another, constantly piecing together their contents.
"The Most Ancient Race."
"Trilobite Men."
"The Snake People were not the beginning, but just a new start after everything was buried in dust."
The feathered serpent looked at the stones, the characters on them, and the history they recorded.
They all proved that in an older era, a great civilization unknown to them had existed, and even the current gods of the mortal world came from that era and civilization.
The feathered serpent's emotions were too complex to express. It was stunned by this grand truth and these ancient facts, which made its head spin.
"The Most Ancient Race?"
"So they truly existed, born in an age beyond the imagination of the Snake People."
"Even the Scarlet Goddess is one of the Most Ancient Race. What kind of race is this, that it could give birth to deities?"
Next, it saw a passage where these so-called Trilobite Men described themselves.
【We are God's firstborn, born to dwell in the Kingdom of God.】
【God gave us the sky, the earth, and the sea. We rode Ruhe Beasts to conquer the sea and walk upon the earth.】
At this, the feathered serpent was completely stunned.
It had just been wondering what kind of race these Trilobite Men were, and this passage provided the answer.
"God's firstborn?"
"They are themselves of divine bloodline?"
"The Most Ancient Race... so these are the Most Ancient Race..."
The feathered serpent swallowed and flicked its tongue.
"Not the Most Ancient Race, they are..."
"Divine Children!"
The feathered serpent suddenly dared not even use the term Trilobite Men anymore. Such beings seemed beyond what could be called people.
It suddenly understood why the divine name of the Scarlet Goddess included "Queen of the Most Ancient Race."
They were Divine Children, inheriting divine bloodlines from birth.
The feathered serpent could not imagine what kind of civilization would be formed by a race of divine descendants.
Its mind was nearly frantic now, immersed in exploring unknown knowledge and secrets. It did not notice the whispering sounds in its ears growing stronger again.
They grew louder, eventually surging like a flood.
Finally, it came across an ancient, broken stele.
This stele was completely different from the other broken stones. Unlike those fragments, it must have once been something very important to this city.
It was just that after the People of the Abyss changed the name of Yesael City to Abyss City, it too was buried in the rubble heap along with Yesael's name.
It recorded the lost, ancient mythology.
The feathered serpent read every ancient character on it by the moonlight.
It was ravenous, pressing closer to look.
【At the feet of the divine stood a maiden, possessing the appearance of the divine race, yet wielding the terrifying power of the King of Ruhe Beasts, with the Mother Conch of All Things that ruled life at her waist.】
【Prince Yesael humbly entered the temple, following the great King Redlichia.】
【Then, he beheld the eternal god.】
【Ah, what a magnificent being!】
【The deity controlling the laws of time beyond ancient ages emitted a radiance as brilliant as stars. Light engulfed the prince, and everything within sight turned white-hot.】
【God said.】
【What is your name?】
The stone broke off here, and everything ended abruptly.
"That's it?"
"Where is the rest?"
"How can it end here?"
The feathered serpent searched frantically, nearly insane, wanting to know the rest of the content.
But everything ended there. The remainder was long lost.
At that moment, the feathered serpent felt the roaring in its ears grow more intense. It was overwhelming, leaving it no choice but to stop and rest.
This also helped the feathered serpent gradually escape from its frenzied state.
After a long while, it finally calmed down, and its thoughts slowly returned to normal.
The feathered serpent recalled the stele's contents, once again remembering those two ancient, ineffable sacred names.
The stele described the moment the Moon Prince first stood before the deity. The words conveyed the ancient nature of this myth.
The Prince's reverence and wonder were evident. Each line seemed to carry his emotions as he knelt before the great deity.
"Yesael? The Prince of the Moon?"
"Redlichia?"
"Who are they?"
The feathered serpent was more concerned with the passage about the Moon Prince's divine audience.
"At the feet of the divine stood a maiden, wielding the terrifying power of the King of Ruhe Beasts?"
"And... the Mother Conch of All Things?"
Without much thought, this image immediately matched the supreme deity worshipped by the Snake People.
The feathered serpent first froze, then a name surfaced in its mind.
It seemed to have discovered something.
It had discovered the ancient, lost mythology, the forgotten truth of this era.
"The Life Sovereign?"
But the moment the name appeared, the feathered serpent forcefully denied it.
It simply could not believe such a thing, as it would completely overturn everything it had ever believed and known.
"Impossible. How could it be?"
"How could it be the Life Sovereign?"
The feathered serpent felt as if every pore on its body had exploded. Despite its powerful physique, it suddenly felt powerless and exhaled white vapor through its nostrils.
It did not want to believe it, but the ancient inscription told it this was the truth.
"The Life Sovereign?"
"Standing at the feet of some eternal deity?"
The feathered serpent had only been thinking this, but now it could not help making hissing sounds, as if trying to speak aloud.
"Isn't She the Creator?"
"Isn't She the Lord of all Creation? The greatest deity?"
"What being could have Her stand at its feet?"
"And who is this deity who controls the laws of time beyond ancient ages?"
There were too many questions, too many problems without answers.
The feathered serpent did not know that this was a kind of fortune.
It was fortunate that the Trilobite Men always used "God" to refer to the Creator, never inscribing the divine name.
The feathered serpent suddenly turned its head toward the depths of the Abyss Royal City, toward the place Elena had called the Creator's temple.
It had not entered the main hall of the temple, so it had not seen which deity was enshrined there.
