Spirit Calamity Plaza!

"Please, sis, can you stop following me? It's not a good look if people see us."
"It's fine. I don't care what other people think."
"But I fucking care!"
Wu Wang walked down the street with Zhuge Yue, his face etched with frustration. The imbalance in his center of gravity made him sway as he walked.
That's right. He was literally carrying Zhuge Yue on his head.
This woman seemed dead set on following him home, all to satisfy her so-called curiosity about his secrets. She was sitting on his shoulders again, even using his head as a table, her upper body lying across the top of his skull.
The two of them ambled down the street in a bizarre human-totem-pole arrangement.
Passersby threw strange looks their way. Their expressions all seemed to say the same thing. The morals of today are in decline. Modern youth are into some really weird stuff.
This left Wu Wang feeling helpless.
It wasn't that he couldn't handle strange looks. After all, he often did things that normal people would find incomprehensible.
For example, going to a foot-massage parlor, ordering a “special service,” and then calling the cops before the girl even arrived, all to experience what it was like to be taken to the station.
Or dressing up as a mythological escort of the dead and wandering the streets during the Ghost Festival, only to be found and beaten up by his Second Sister.
Or, after graduating, sending his resume everywhere to interview at various companies, just to sneak into their offices and kill their money trees with hot water.
He felt no psychological burden from any of these things. Those were his own shenanigans.
But now that he was the target of someone else's prank, Wu Wang was a little annoyed.
Damn it! I'm usually the psycho! Why do you get to be it now?
"Can you stop poking my head with something?" Wu Wang could clearly feel a small, button-like object prodding his scalp as he walked.
Unexpectedly, Zhuge Yue casually replied, "Oh, I'm wearing a front-clasp bra today."
Right. So that's what it is. Fantastic.
Wu Wang had no further comment.
Under the strange gazes of the passersby, the two of them arrived in front of an old-style apartment building. The area was deserted, part of an old residential district that looked like it could be demolished at any moment. It was a place left behind by the city's progress.
He opened the door.
The smell of stirred-up dust wafted out.
"Cough, cough, cough. Don't you ever clean this place?" Zhuge Yue asked with disgust.
Wu Wang shrugged nonchalantly. "Come on, I'm a single drifter living alone. The fact that I don't leave used tissues lying around is already quite hygienic. Where would I find the time to dust every day?"
Before them was a studio apartment with one bedroom, one living room, one kitchen, and one bathroom.
This wasn't the house where Wu Wang and Wu Xiaoyou lived. It was his backup apartment.
After the incident at the antique market, he had offended some underworld figures who put a bounty on his head on the dark web. Worried that living at home would bring trouble to his Second Sister, he had secretly rented this old studio.
It was also here that he accomplished the magnificent feat of surviving forty-eight assassination attempts.
After the incident was over, Wu Wang found this shady little base to be quite useful, so he simply kept it on a long-term lease. The rent here was cheap anyway, only a few hundred yuan a month.
The people who lived here were either recent graduates and interns with no money for a better place, or elderly people with one foot in the grave who had spent their lives in this old district.
At the same time, there were pitifully few surveillance cameras. There wasn't even a 24-hour convenience store downstairs.
Wu Wang would come over once a week to clean. When he left, he would deliberately turn on some low-power appliances and turn the faucet just enough for water to slowly drip. Over the course of a week, both the electricity and water bills would remain within a reasonable range.
This created the appearance that someone was living here long-term. Even if someone with malicious intent investigated, they wouldn't spot any abnormalities from the utility consumption.
It had only been four days since his last cleaning. Although there was a good amount of dust, it at least felt lived-in. This was why Zhuge Yue didn't become suspicious.
"Get me a blanket. I'll just sleep on the sofa for the next few days in Mingyang City. I am crashing here, after all," Zhuge Yue said as she flipped herself off Wu Wang's head.
She patted the dust off the sofa as she spoke.
This surprised him somewhat. This person forced her way into my home, yet she knows not to take the bedroom? A little bit of courtesy, but not much.
Who would have thought that in the next second, Zhuge Yue's expression would suddenly turn grim.
She looked at Wu Wang with an extremely cold gaze.
Devoid of any emotion, she said, "I'm sleeping in the bedroom. You sleep on the sofa. If you dare come in, I'll chop off that thing between your legs."
Wu Wang froze. "?"
Isn't this fucking personality switch a bit too fast?
But he immediately understood.
Does she really have other personalities?
"Uh, if I may be so bold as to ask again, are you Little Yueyue?"
Hearing his words, Zhuge Yue's expression grew even colder.
She said viciously, "I am Zhuge Yue. The 'Yue' as in 'battle-axe.' If I hear the words ‘Little Yueyue' from your mouth again, I'll rip out your tongue and serve it as a cold dish."
Alright, alright, there's an even bigger master here! As expected, as cold and merciless as a battle-axe.
Wu Wang now truly came to terms with it. What she said on the beach about a fifth personality wasn't a joke. She probably had more than just two personalities.
Before Wu Wang could ask anything else, the coldness on Zhuge Yue's face instantly melted away. Her eyebrows shot up and her eyes widened, making her look innocent and cute. She even pursed her lips slightly, looking like a little girl.
She said cheerfully, "I'm Yueyue! Did Big Sister say you wanted to see me? That's great! Do you want to be my friend?"
"Uh, not really," Wu Wang sighed, covering his face. "If you can, little sister, could you please bring back the first Zhuge Yue?"
This was the first time in his life that communicating with someone felt so mentally exhausting.
So this is what other people feel when they have to deal with me. Truly worthy of me.
"Oh… okay," a trace of disappointment was evident in Zhuge Yue's tone. "Next time you want to play with Yueyue, be sure to have Big Sister call me, okay…"
As if she had been greatly wronged, she lowered her head, looking like she was about to cry.
A moment later, she took a deep breath.
Her teasing expression returned. Crossing her legs, she quipped, "Little handsome guy, you made Little Yueyue cry. You'll have to be responsible for comforting her next time you meet."
She waved a dismissive hand. "Don't mind whatever that cold-blooded bitch who appeared earlier said."
"I'm sleeping on the sofa. I refuse to sleep on the bed!"
Wu Wang was speechless. "..."
Friend, you keep calling someone a bitch, but it seems like you're cursing yourself.
I envy people with schizophrenia. They can have a lively time every day all by themselves. I just wonder if they can play Fight the Landlord with themselves in their own heads.
Alright, I'll just rest here for tonight.
Tomorrow, I'll figure out a way to leave a note for Second Sister, telling her I'm going out of town for a few days so she won't worry when I disappear.
I also have to avoid this Zhuge Yue and go find Xiezhi to complete our deal. I'm not done ripping off the Abnormal Affairs Bureau yet.
"By the way, did you just hit Level 10?" Zhuge Yue asked, lying on the sofa.
Wu Wang didn't hide it and nodded. A normal player would only think he went from Level 9 to 10. They would never imagine he had jumped all the way from Level 6.
After getting an affirmative answer, Zhuge Yue vanished from the sofa.
The next second, she appeared beside Wu Wang and patted his shoulder.
Tilting her head up slightly, she said with the arrogant air of a senior, "Level 10 is when a player's journey truly begins. You'll unlock a new feature. The Spirit Calamity Plaza."
"Let Big Sister take a sheltered little virgin like you for a tour!"
Hey sis, the way you say that makes it sound more like you're taking me to a brothel!
Before Wu Wang could voice his complaint, an invitation popped up on his friends panel.
【Your friend Zhuge Yue has invited you to join her conference room】
【As this is your first time entering the Spirit Calamity Plaza】
【Would you like to create a personal conference room?】
【Note. You may choose not to decide now. Creating one later will not have any negative effects.】
Author's Note:
I have to make something clear here. This book has no female lead or romance plotline. Wu Wang is absolutely all about having fun. Women! They only slow down the speed at which I draw my blade.
