The 【Legendary】 Item Hanging in Plain Sight!

Swoosh!
Wu Wang's attire began to change.
Xiezhi, standing beside him, watched helplessly as the clothes transformed. In the blink of an eye, they became the familiar blue, red, and silver costume of a certain hero.
His mouth twitched, and his hands began to tremble.
He finally understood the sheer absurdity Bei Lang must have felt when he wrote in his report that Yan Shuangying had transformed into Decade.
“Wait… you… why would you…”
Before he could finish, Wu Wang frowned and looked over, though his expression was completely hidden by his helmet.
“What?” he said faintly. “You lookin' down on Ultraman Zero?”
That's right. He had used the 【Heilan Home Brooch】 to change his attire into the spitting image of Ultraman Zero.
Even on a street full of players who ignored aesthetics for stats, resulting in all sorts of bizarre outfits, they were at least wearing actual equipment.
Under any circumstances, a person walking around in an Ultraman Zero suit was guaranteed to be the most conspicuous presence in a crowd.
Quite a few passersby were already casting strange glances at Wu Wang. From time to time, someone would recognize the man standing next to him as Xiezhi of the Abnormal Affairs Bureau.
After all, his demotion to Mingyang City for lashing out at his superiors was a rather amusing story in their circle. He was semi-famous.
Seeing him standing with Ultraman Zero, everyone's gazes filled with pity.
Had the blow from back then finally made Xiezhi's mind unstable?
“I suddenly don't want to stand next to you anymore,” Xiezhi sighed.
Wu Wang shrugged nonchalantly.
“Not used to it yet? That's your problem. You're too rigid.”
Was this a matter of being rigid or not? This was social suicide!
Under the searing gazes of the people around them, Xiezhi followed Wu Wang into the 【Hall of Justice】.
The decor was extremely simple and unadorned. The overall design used a light color palette, with dark, clear signs indicating the location of each service counter. Its designer was clearly a pragmatist.
Looking up, the entire hall had a spiral, hollowed-out design that somewhat resembled a shopping mall. The only thing that seemed remotely fancy was the shining ball of light in the center of the hall.
To be precise, it wasn't a ball of light, but a luminous pillar. It descended from the ceiling twenty stories up, stopping just above the first floor to serve as a light source for the entire building. From the ground floor, it simply resembled a strange, glowing sphere.
Wu Wang walked straight to the front counter for 【Appraiser】-related services. Behind it sat an extremely cute, sweet-looking female player. Her smile was refreshing, a clear sign that her Charisma stat wasn't low. It was, at the very least, higher than Wu Wang's.
“Hello, do you need to have an item appraised?” the young lady at the counter asked with a sweet smile.
Even when faced with Ultraman Zero, she didn't show the slightest hint of an impolite expression. She didn't understand, but she respected his choice.
“He's here to register as an 【Appraiser】,” Xiezhi cut in. “Could you please arrange the registration process a little more quickly?”
He paused, then added, “If possible, could you let us wait in the registration area? To avoid holding up other players.”
He wasn't actually worried about other players. He was worried Wu Wang would have a brain fart and say something outrageous.
He had already lost enough face for one day.
The young lady at the counter revealed a look of surprise.
“Are you Department Head Xiezhi?” she asked uncertainly.
Xiezhi blinked. Seeing the fervent look in her eyes, he nodded.
The woman immediately pulled a phone from her pocket, grinning.
“You were so cool back then! I'm a huge fan. Can we take a picture together?”
He hadn't expected to run into a fangirl here. She must also be from the Abnormal Affairs Bureau, assigned to duty at the 【Hall of Justice】.
Xiezhi was just about to smile and agree when Wu Wang leaned in.
“Old Xie, you have fans? Can I be in the picture too? I want to take it back to the M78 Nebula and show it off to the Inter Galactic Defense Force.”
Ultraman Zero's sudden intrusion made the fangirl's expression change. She looked uncertainly between the two men.
She remembered that Xiezhi had brought this person here to register as an appraiser. One would only accompany a trusted friend on such an errand, which meant that Xiezhi was friends with a lunatic. His bizarre words only solidified her impression that he wasn't right in the head.
If that was the case, then Department Head Xiezhi, who was with him… could he also be…
She silently put her phone away and pointed to the blue passage on the right.
“Appraiser registration is this way. Other staff members will guide you through the process.”
As Xiezhi turned and walked away, tears welled up in the fangirl's eyes.
“Department Head Xie,” she muttered to herself, “I will forever miss the upright, incorruptible, and sane you, wuwuwu!”
Xiezhi's face darkened.
I'm not dead yet! What the hell is there to miss?
He quickened his pace, desperate to leave the bustling, crowded hall.
But unexpectedly, Wu Wang, who was following behind him, seemed to have frozen in place. His gaze was fixed on the luminous pillar in the center of the hall, the one that hung from the ceiling and illuminated every floor.
“What are you doing?” Xiezhi asked, walking back in confusion.
Beneath the Ultraman Zero helmet, Wu Wang's eyes flickered.
He shook his head. “It's nothing. A poor kid has just never seen such a nice decoration before.”
His words made Xiezhi pause, feeling a pang of guilt. He thought he might have triggered some bad memories for the man.
Little did he know, the reason Wu Wang was staring at the pillar was simple.
This thing wasn't a decoration at all.
The 【Vision of Truth】, granted to him by the 【Abyss God's Mark】, saw it very clearly.
Inscribed on the pillar were lines of text.
【Supercomputing System - TaihuLight (Legendary)】
【Unable to Appraise Specific Effects】
【This unit has been placed under three Legendary-grade Anti-Appraisal Seals, a Cognitive Impairment Seal, and a Protection Seal】
【Forcefully See Through the Truth?】
Almost everyone who came to the 【Hall of Justice】 thought it was just a decoration. Who would have guessed it was actually a Legendary-grade item?
This was also the first time he had encountered a situation where the Vision of Truth asked if he wanted to actively see through an item's effects.
Wu Wang didn't dare to try. It had so-called Legendary-grade seals on it.
If he wasn't mistaken, these seals were likely placed jointly by the three founders of the 【Hall of Justice】- the Director of the Abnormal Affairs Bureau, Qing Long; the President of the Tarot Society; and the Tower Master of the Tower of Order.
The purpose was to prevent others from discovering it was a Legendary-grade item and learning its effects. If he really forced his way through… who knew if it would attract the attention of those three.
“Let's go, let's go! I'm the man who will become the King of Appraisers!”
Wu Wang laughed it off and quickly strode through the Blue Passage. Xiezhi hurried to keep up, terrified the guy would spout more nonsense to the next staff member he met.
He was about to lose all his face.
Meanwhile, in a remote divination house, a diviner wearing a witch hat and a light veil raised an eyebrow.
She tapped the crystal ball in front of her. An image of the luminous pillar in the 【Hall of Justice】 appeared on its surface.
Her eyes lit up with interest.
She opened her friends list and sent two messages.
“Someone saw through Taihu and realized it's an item.”
“Little Li, is there something wrong with your Cognitive Impairment? Or did our great Dragon King's Protection Seal crack?”
“In any case, it's definitely not a problem with my Anti-Appraisal Seal.”
“You two should reflect on yourselves.”
