This Blue Skeleton Doesn't Fight Fair

Whoosh!
With a spread of his golden wings, Jiang Cheng’s blue figure soared into the sky.
"Over there, by that priest statue. That's where they are."
Huo Silou pointed toward a towering statue in the distance, directing him.
"Hmm?"
Jiang Cheng had planned to fly there immediately, but a sudden sense of warning rose in his heart.
"Was there a priest statue like this in Luo Cloud City before?"
He stared at the towering structure that reached into the clouds, a flicker of vigilance in his eyes.
"No, it was built temporarily," Huo Silou replied. "Actually, I'm not sure why she allowed the Magic Academy people to build such a stone statue on this little hill. It clearly doesn't match Luo Cloud City's style."
"Magic Academy," Jiang Cheng mused. "Which faction do they belong to?"
"Magic Academy? They don't belong to any faction. They're neutral."
"Neutral," Jiang Cheng nodded. "Which means their position can change at any time due to external forces."
"Huh? Is that how it works? Oh... Skeleton God, you know so much! Your insights are incredible. I never would have thought of that. Amazing!"
Huo Silou praised him, her face full of admiration.
Jiang Cheng was slightly speechless. This woman seemed like a completely different person since the game update. No matter what he said, she always found a way to praise him. It was making him quite helpless.
He even suspected that Huo Silou had been replaced by someone else.
"It's not as complicated as you think," Jiang Cheng said wearily. "Though I do feel this priest statue seems... alive."
"Alive?"
Huo Silou was completely confused. She couldn't see anything special about the stone statue. How could it possibly be alive?
"It seems that during my absence, enemies have already infiltrated her inner circle."
Jiang Cheng had expected his enemies would use A Silly Cutie against him. She was the perfect leverage. Still, the reality of it angered him.
"Is the stone statue really alive? What's the purpose of placing it there?"
Huo Silou felt that she had wasted her years as an intelligence chief. Why did her brain freeze whenever she faced Jiang Cheng?
Where was her usual calmness?
Where was her piercing insight into people's hearts?
Why had they all disappeared?
How embarrassing...
"Whether it's alive or not, I'm not entirely sure," Jiang Cheng said, his voice cold. "If it's not, I'll tear it down. If it is, I'll still tear it down."
Whoosh!
The words had barely left his lips before he shot through the dimly lit sky.
At the same time, Northern Frost had already gathered all the streamers at the base of the priest statue. Everyone was on high alert, waiting for Jiang Cheng's arrival.
"Do you think we can handle the Blue Skeleton?"
"We should... be able to."
The person who answered sounded deeply uncertain.
"Even if we can't, we should at least last a few rounds, right?"
"Everyone quiet! He's coming!"
Northern Frost’s voice cut through the murmurs. He watched the rapidly approaching blue light, his heart pounding with excitement.
"I see a blue light flying this way. Everyone, fill up your status bars. Let's try to take him down in one go!"
"Defensive potions, strength potions, wind potions, advanced life enhancement potions, immobility potions! Don't hesitate, drink them all!"
"Prepare for a prolonged battle. This one might last a while!"
The highlight of his life was about to arrive.
They had 12 level-45 Demon Swordsmen who had all learned the Corrosion Array formation, four more than he'd originally planned. The Corrosion Array was a support skill for the Demon Swordsman class, one that most players ignored because its effects were lackluster. At level one, it reduced defense by a mere two points. Even maxed out at level 20, it only shaved off 40 points, a pitiful amount against monsters with hundreds of defense points.
However, the array had one particularly overpowered effect. The instant it activated, it could place a target in a state of zero defense for 0.3 seconds.
That 0.3 seconds was brief and usually useless. But with enough Demon Swordsmen skilled enough to perfectly chain the effect, the results would be terrifying. Array-support Demon Swordsmen required extremely high technical skill and were quite rare.
Their plan was simple. Eight Demon Swordsmen would cast Corrosion Array in sequence, while the others used control skills to lock the Blue Skeleton in place.
He, along with Wan Xilou, Donglin Wenhou, and Southern Phoenix, would act as the main damage dealers. They would unleash everything they had, aiming to kill the Blue Skeleton during that brief zero-defense window.
The plan was perfect, but he wasn't completely confident. He’d prepared a backup. The four of them would use their superior skills to kite the Blue Skeleton, distracting its attacks while everyone else chipped away at its health in a war of attrition.
As long as they won this battle... no, even if they just fought the Blue Skeleton to a draw, his path in The Great Wasteland, and the entire gaming world, would become much smoother.
"This is exciting! Our moment to shine has arrived!" Northern Frost yelled. "As long as we win this battle, you can choose any gaming club in the country!"
"You'll top the recruitment lists of major guilds! The Hall of Fame will be within your grasp!"
"Great! Let's do this!"
"Brothers and sisters, drink your potions! Let's take him down!"
The 99 streamers were stirred by his words, shouting excitedly as if injected with adrenaline. They knew they didn't even need to beat the Blue Skeleton. His strength was legendary, broadcast to hundreds of millions of viewers.
Among those viewers were surely leaders and scouts from major guilds, all watching their performance. If they could just hold out for half an hour, they would secure their place in the eyes of the bigwigs. They could leave a strong mark on the gaming world, maybe even make history.
"100 meters!"
"Get ready!"
"Priests, buff the three of us with Strength and Spirit!"
"Knights, shields up, synchronize!"
"Blade Masters, Soul Breaking Slash, charge up!"
"Demon Swordsmen, in three seconds, Wind Wing Array, go!"
"Elemental Mages, spell barrier!"
"Frost Soul Mages, ice swamp at nine o'clock!"
"Darkness Archers, curse arrows ready!"
"Divine Power Archers, shock arrows!"
"30 meters!"
"10 meters!"
"Soul Breaking Slash, now!"
At Northern Frost's command, the sixteen Blade Masters in front raised their fully charged blades. Black light erupted from their weapons as they unleashed Soul Breaking Slash. Sixteen arcs of dark energy flew unimpeded toward the streak of blue light.
The hundreds of millions of viewers in the livestream held their breath. Northern Frost's group grinned, anticipating the attack pulling their target into the Demon Swordsmen's array.
But in the next instant, the blue light tore straight through all sixteen attacks and slammed into the ground beneath one of the Blade Masters.
An explosion of thunder erupted in a three-meter radius around the stunned player.
At the same time, a platinum-white figure descended from the sky.
The moment it landed.
Boom!
A deafening explosion ripped through the center of their formation. Countless golden thunderbolts shot out from the ground, spreading in every direction.
Boom! Boom! Boom! BOOM!
The explosions continued without pause, kicking up massive clouds of dust.
Ninety-nine screams rang out as one.
The livestream screens suddenly went black.
One hundred and thirty million viewers were kicked out of the stream at the same time.
