Chapter 491

Let Me Handle This

"Really?"

Path to Hell gazed at Jiang Cheng, wanting a definitive answer.

After all, the two of them had been on good terms back in the day. While they weren't as close as Jiang Cheng and Fist Sage, they were friends who had worked together more than once.

He'd felt a pang of regret when Jiang Cheng died, but the dead couldn't be brought back. Path to Hell was someone who looked forward, not back. He had paid his respects at the memorial service and moved on, not giving it much more thought.

But if this Blue Skeleton was really Jiang Cheng, that was wonderful news.

"It's pretty bizarre, isn't it? I think so too. I couldn't believe it myself at first."

Jiang Cheng smiled helplessly.

"Can you imagine waking up one day to find your entire body is nothing but a skeleton?"

"That would be horrifying."

Path to Hell laughed, his emotions a complex mix.

"Haha, I wouldn't have believed it either."

He continued, "Still, every cloud has a silver lining. It's better to be alive than gone completely. Besides, you're stronger now, and you've found Little Meng, the love of your life. I guess it's a blessing in disguise."

"But are you stuck like this forever?"

Jiang Cheng nodded.

"For now, yes. There should be ways to recover eventually."

"You could try probing Naheshi for information," Path to Hell suggested. "Maybe you'll get some clues."

"That can wait. Let's rescue Little Xue and the others first."

Thud!

The words had barely left Jiang Cheng's lips when a massive, green-skinned man plummeted from the sky. Jiang Cheng's blade flashed, and the man was dead before he hit the ground.

The group stared, momentarily stunned.

"Looks like the fighting is pretty intense out there."

Jiang Cheng glanced at the dazed Naheshi.

"Naheshi, since you're the one who bewitched the hundred races, you should have a way to restore their sanity."

"Hmph! Why would I want to do that? They're fighting so spectacularly! This Lord hasn't seen enough yet."

Clap, clap, clap.

As Naheshi spoke, she began to clap. Then she flew high into the sky, searching for a better vantage point.

"Wow, that woman is so fierce! What kind of spell is that? So violent! This Lord loves it! I never knew mortals had such fierce women. Ooh, and her clothes are so pretty! I've decided to make her my nine hundred and seventy-second wife! You won't object, will you?"

"Uh..."

A Silly Cutie's expression darkened. She couldn't see for thousands of miles like Naheshi, so she had no idea what was happening in the distance.

Still, the little god's habit of casually claiming wives was enough to leave one speechless. Nine hundred and seventy-one wives already?

"Naheshi, if you don't stop them, what if they come over here and hurt Big Brother Cheng? Then you won't be able to see the Heavenly Emperor!"

"Is that so? Aw, how boring! And I just started watching something fun."

Naheshi's lip jutted out in a pout, her expression aggrieved. Her pitiful look was so disarmingly cute that A Silly Cutie almost took back her words.

"Oh dear, I almost forgot... Daddy said my power is still too weak. I haven't fully mastered my mind control abilities yet. I can only cast the spell, not undo it. Oh no, what do I do?"

"Really?"

A Silly Cutie couldn't quite believe her. This little god was so powerful and her personality so unpredictable, it was hard to tell if she was just playing around.

Boom!

A nearby mountain range suddenly exploded as if a volcano had erupted, sending rocks flying everywhere.

Then came Naheshi's fierce, childish voice.

"What?! You dare doubt me? I, the great Lord Evil God, am the smartest and most trustworthy of all! Hmph."

After casually blasting the mountain flat, Naheshi puffed out her cheeks and glared angrily at A Silly Cutie.

"Ah... this..."

A Silly Cutie flinched. Seeing Naheshi flatten a mountain and obliterate a large group of Barbarians on its peak, she shrank back fearfully.

"Okay, but what do we do now? If you can't reverse it, they'll charge in here and hurt Big Brother Cheng. If he gets injured, he'll be weaker, and it'll be impossible for him to break free from the Heavenly Emperor's control. Then you'll never see the Heavenly Emperor!"

"Ah... Is that true? Wh-why is it like this? So annoying!"

Naheshi's brow furrowed, and she looked even more furious.

"I'm so angry! Hmph! Daddy never told me this would happen."

"Ugh, so annoying! Little sister, since I can't take it back, can I just kill all of the hundred races? That would keep Big Brother Cheng out of danger, right?"

A Silly Cutie was at a loss for words.

How could this adorable, pink little thing be so bloodthirsty?

Or was this how all gods saw mortals? Were their lives that meaningless?

She didn't want to be responsible for the slaughter of innocents, not over a few careless words.

So, A Silly Cutie could only turn to Jiang Cheng, her eyes pleading for help.

Jiang Cheng understood the helplessness in her gaze and offered a reassuring look in return.

"Let me handle this."
